Applications for the Medical Women's Federation Elective Bursary awards are administered by the local secretaries for applicants in Scotland. Procedure is different from the one detailed on the main student page and differs between the Eastern and the Western groups. Please see below for details.
The Scottish Eastern application procedure requires applicants to submit a short essay of no more than 2 sides of A4, describing the location and anticipated medical/social problems of their proposed elective. Applicants should outline any formal project with methodology and indicate the anticipated benefits of the elective both for themselves and for their hosts. The Scottish Eastern applications are judged in two batches so applications can either be submitted before the first closing date - 15th January 2010 or the second - 18th June 2010. Please remember electives cannot be funded retrospectively and choose your prefered closing date accordingly. Candidates should complete the application form, which can be downloaded here>> and send a short essay before the closing date prior to their elective.
The Scottish Western procedure is the same as the one described on the main student page, however the closing date is 29th January 2010. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A DIFFERENT DATE FROM THE ONE DETAILED ON THE MAIN STUDENT PAGE. Applicants in the Scottish Western region should also submit their forms to a different address. Please click here to download an application form (which contains details of where to return it) >>.
