Come and hear about how doctors interact
with the public through the various forms of media at the spectacular
new Visual Arts Centre in Colchester.

Abstracts (maximum 250 words) are invited
on any subject of interest to women doctors, related either to the theme
of the conference, to the health of women or their families, or to women
doctors’ careers, for presentation or as a poster.
The ELIZABETH GARRETT ANDERSON PRIZE
will be awarded for the best abstract presentation.
The winners of MWF Essay Competition will present their work.

• How to achieve less than full time
post graduate medical training
MWF's Annual General Meeting followed by
a Presidential Address will be held on Friday 11th May
2012 at Firstsite from 4.45pm.
Please note, this is a different time from that advertised in
the Winter edition of our journal.
The aims of the meeting are:
1) To investigate how different forms of Media have an impact on
different medical specialties with regard to published research.
2) To provide workshops to help doctors of all ages either improve
their communication skills or manage their medical careers.
3) To provide the opportunity for female doctors and medical
students to network and collaborate.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME: This will include informal dinner at
the Lemon Tree Restaurant Thursday 10th, a private tour of the Colchester
Castle Museum on Friday evening, Gala dinner at Firstsite on Friday 11th
and a visit to The Beth Chatto Garden in the afternoon Saturday 12th.
Please note that the tour of the castle museum is indoors and does not
involve touring the castle itself.
COUNCIL MEETING (open to
all members) will be held on Saturday 12th May 2012 at the George Hotel,
High St, Colchester CO1 1TD from 9.30am – 1.00pm
